A simple expression of purity. Following a centuries old recipe and made with only three ingredients Aleppo soap is gentle, moisturising and fragrant. A timeless and thoughtful product to add to your bathing ritual.

Each order includes 2 bars of soap.
Olive oil and Bay Laurel are boiled, cooled then combined with Lye before setting. Once solid it is cut by hand then aged for over 6 months to produce the square blocks of soap.
During this aging process the outer layers oxidise and harden, while the inside remains a deep verdant green - fresh with the pure notes of bay leaf, revealing itself as the outer layers strip back through use.

To ensure fair trade, our soap is sourced directly from the family that produces it in Syria. A business of multiple generations, the family name وليد نجار is hand stamped onto each bar as they cool. Produced in the same manner since the 8th Century AD, it is not only a beautiful product but a reflection on history, tradition and what that means to us.

Free from additives of colour or fragrance, these weighty irregular blocks offer a silky and gentle lather and a subtle scent.
Please note this soap is a truly natural, unrefined product and therefore behaves differently to mass produced soaps. We suggest to use a soap holder as it can leave a messy soapy residue where it sits.
